Solar in the summer

Is summer a better time to install solar panels?

The summer months can be brutal on desert environments such as our home of Phoenix, Arizona. A question that many clients ask is, “Is the summer a better time to install solar?” No! Not necessarily, at least. The days are longer, yes. June 21st is actually the longest day of the year in Phoenix with 14.3 hours of sunlight.

The only real correlation found between summer and going solar is that it is the time of the year when electric bills sky-rocket. Which does make sense… no one wants to live in a hot house. Especially, in Arizona. Nobody wants to deal with a massive electric bill produced by having the ac on either. Personally, I just do not want to hear any headaches from the Mrs or the kids. For me, the worst thing is coming home from a long day of work and becoming a detective as I find who touched the thermostat.

If not summer, when should I solar?

We suggest that you go solar as soon as it makes sense to do so and begin racking in the savings, immediately. Unfortunately, mother earth is not a renewable resource. The planet that we call home loses life every day. Solar is about much more than saving money. Still, we could all use some extra cash.
